IREL Recruitment 2026 : IREL (India) Limited has released a recruitment notification for 131 Tradesman Trainee posts. IREL is inviting applications from eligible Indian candidates for four trades: Fitter, Electrician, Instrumentation and Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant).

Candidates with the required ITI or NAC qualification and relevant work experience can apply through online. The selected candidates will receive training for one year, with a monthly stipend of ₹34,200.

• Fitter: Chhatarpur, Odisha – 32; Chavara, Kerala – 26; Manavalakurichi, Tamil Nadu – 20; Aluva, Kerala – 13; Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh – 1; Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh – 1.
• Electrician: Chhatarpur, Odisha – 4; Chavara, Kerala – 3; Manavalakurichi, Tamil Nadu – 4; Aluva, Kerala – 1.
• Instrumentation: Chhatarpur, Odisha – 4; Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh – 1; Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh – 1.

IREL Recruitment 2026 Educational Qualification

Candidates must have the required qualification and two years of relevant work experience for the selected trade.

1. Tradesman Trainee (Fitter)

• Vacancies: 93
• Qualification: ITI or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the Fitter trade.
• Experience: Two years of experience in the Fitter trade in a recognised industrial establishment. Eligible on-the-job training and apprenticeship training may be counted as stated in the notification.

2. Tradesman Trainee (Electrician)

• Vacancies: 12
• Qualification: ITI or NAC in the Electrician trade.
• Additional requirement: A valid statutory licence.
• Experience: Two years of relevant experience in an industrial establishment, including eligible on-the-job or apprenticeship training.

3. Tradesman Trainee (Instrumentation)

• Vacancies: 6
• Qualification: ITI or NAC in the Instrumentation trade.
• Experience: Two years of relevant experience in an industrial establishment, including eligible on-the-job or apprenticeship training.

4. Tradesman Trainee (Attendant Operator – Chemical Plant)

• Vacancies: 20
• Qualification: ITI or NAC in Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant), OR 12th Science with Chemistry as one of the subjects and at least 50% aggregate marks.
• Experience: Two years of experience operating chemical or related process industries, including eligible apprenticeship training.

For IREL internal candidates: The notification provides a separate qualification route of SSC with four years of experience in the relevant trade or operation.

IREL Recruitment 2026 Age Limit

The maximum age limit is 35 years as of 9 November 2026.

Age relaxation is available for eligible candidates as follows:

The maximum age after applicable relaxation should not exceed 50 years. Candidates should read the notification for all category-specific conditions.

IREL Recruitment 2026 Salary

The selected candidates will first undergo one year of training.

• Monthly training stipend: ₹34,200
• After successful training: Candidates may be absorbed into the regular Tradesman post in W-3 grade.
• Pay scale after absorption: ₹22,000–₹88,000
• Approximate annual CTC after regular appointment: ₹6.5 lakh, as stated in the notification.

Eligible candidates may also receive HRA, medical facilities and other benefits under company rules. HRA during training depends on the accommodation provided and the applicable conditions.

Absorption into the regular post is subject to successful completion of training and company policy.

IREL Recruitment 2026 Application Fee

Candidates must pay the applicable fee online.

IREL Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The selection process includes a Computer-Based Test (CBT), followed by a skill test where applicable.

Written Examination

The CBT will last two hours and contain two sections:

• Section I: 100 questions on professional knowledge related to the trade.
• Section II: 50 questions on general knowledge, logical reasoning, numerical ability and English.

Each correct answer carries one mark. There is no negative marking for wrong answers.

The minimum qualifying marks in each section are:

• General (UR) and EWS: 50%
• SC, ST and OBC (NCL): 45%

Skill Test

Candidates who qualify in the written test may be called for a trade test or computer proficiency test, depending on the post. The skill test is qualifying in nature.

The final merit list will be based on written test marks among candidates who qualify in the required skill test. Document verification will take place before appointment.
